Group Visits

 Group Visits

The Galveston and Texas History Center welcomes students, organizations, and other groups for tours and research visits. Please call the Special Collections Project Coordinator, Christina Jewell, at 409-763-8854, ext. 133, to make arrangements.

Due to the staff time involved in planning and hosting a group visit, please call at least three weeks in advance. Staff will make every effort to accommodate your group and provide an engaging research experience. The History Center contains a wealth of primary and secondary source materials on almost any Galveston or early Texas history topic.

Examples of group visits:

  • Slavery in early Texas
  • Black Galveston history
  • Genealogy and Galveston ancestors
  • 1900 Storm
  • Highlights from the archives and museum

Group tours of the Museum are also available by request. Many items from the artifact and fine art collections are available to view throughout the building, including the Treasure of the Month on the 2nd floor.
