City Directories

Galveston city directories dating from 1856 to 2024 are available at the Galveston and Texas History Center. A great historical and genealogical resource, city directories list inhabitants, occupations, places of residence, and businesses. The Galveston and Texas History Center partnered with the University of North Texas to digitize these materials. Directories from 1859 to 1925 are available on the Portal to Texas History.
